This year‘s Summer School is being delivered over the internet using meeting software called Zoom.
What is Zoom?
If you have not used Zoom meeting software before, this software is video conferencing software that can use the camera and microphone of your computer (that is either a laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone) and allows you to connect online for video conference meetings, webinars and live chat of this year’s Summer School.
Use of Zoom at the Summer School
We will not use your camera or microphone for our Summer School sessions. Your video and microphone will be switched off when you join the session. Instead you will be able to use the text function of Zoom to ask questions of the speakers at the end of each presentation. You can , of course, switch on your camera (video) or sound (unmute) if you so wish.
Zoom Software and Testing Zoom
If you do not have Zoom installed on your computer then you should go to https://zoom.us to find appropriate software for your computer in Resources tab; top right of the page.
PLEASE ONLY USE ZOOM.US FOR THE ZOOM SOFTWARE. DO NOT USE GOOGLE, BING OR OTHER SEARCH ENGINES TO FIND ZOOM SOFTWARE.
Once you have downloaded the software you can use this link on zoom.us to test your Zoom software on your computer.
We hope these recommendations allow you to join us for this year’s Summer School.
